Things in life are transient.

And then...

And then my wife and son are in an auto accident. Burns and very bad bruises, but otherwise OK.

Yuck. Life is, as Borepatch says, speaking in its outdoor voice.

What doesn't kill you only makes you stronger (or so they keep telling me), but that doesn't mean it won't totally suck.

Oh, dear. You're all in my thoughts.

Best wishes for the family. There are moments that remind us how fragile this existence is.

I am glad everyone is OK. I hope that the burns are from airbag deployment and nothing else. I strongly suggest everyone get checked out by medical practitioners.

"Outdoor voice" indeed. Take care!

Burns are nothing to down play. Hopefully they are just airbag rash and not the result of the car becoming en fuego.

Glad it is not too serious; my best wishes for a fast and uneventful recovery from their injuries.

Sorry to hear that, glad they are not seriously hurt. Cars are replaceable, family aren't.

Also read the other posts. Glad your wife and son came through it OK. Sounds like you're raising a pretty impressive young man there.

Thank you all very much. The next post is more about the accident (as most have read) and I said a thank you there, but as I reread this post I really felt that I had to add a heartfelt thanks here, too.

This was a moment (or more) of terror for me. Feelings that I certainly don't want repeated and even don't care to relive in memory.

But... the wonderful and caring expressions here are a memory that I DO want to keep.
